released January 17, 2017

Sunken Armada was formed in 2011 by then part-time WFNX-Boston DJ and Drab drummer Jason Layne as a vehicle for songwriting. During a two-year hiatus from music between 2012-2014, Layne built a home studio which he now calls Freedom of 76 Studios based in Arlington, MA. This decision was made after immersing himself in the works of 1960's and 1970's super studios and producers like Gold Star Studios (Phil Spector/Brian Wilson/"The Wrecking Crew"), Motown Studios (“The Funk Brothers”, James Jamerson), Ardent Studios (Big Star/Chris Bell), Stax Studios and The Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. This combined with a love of the major indie rock labels of the 1990's (Matador, Sub Pop, Touch and Go) and the DIY style of Fugazi, led to a revival of the Sunken Armada project which consists of a rotating cast of musicians not unlike the projects that influenced him.

Musicians:
Jason Layne (Vox, Guitar, Bass, Percussion, Drums, Percussion, Piano, Moog, Theremin)
Kristy Foye (Cello)
Steve Rowe (Guitar)
Robert Blunt (Drums on "Forgive Us")

Thanks to Paul Driscoll, Tim O'Keefe, John Greene, Alicia Lee, Michelle Ladew, Alana Sacks and Jess Townsend for performing live shows.

Recorded at Freedom of 76 Studios, Arlington, MA.
